How to Convert HTML Tables to Excel Online

  1. Drop one or more .html or .htm files — everything is processed locally and never uploaded.
  2. Click Convert to Excel — every <table> in each file is detected and parsed.
  3. Check the report — each result row lists the worksheets that were created.
  4. Download the .xlsx file — a single file downloads directly; multiple files come back as a ZIP.

How the Parsing Works

The HTML is parsed with the same engine used for spreadsheets: every <table> element becomes one worksheet, in order of appearance, and rows and cells map directly onto spreadsheet rows and cells. Line breaks written as <br> inside cells are restored as real line breaks, and basic entities such as &amp; are decoded.

Layout tables, nested tables and tables inside emails or exported reports all work — if it is a <table>, it becomes a sheet.

Limitations

  • Only real <table> markup is converted — CSS grid or flex layouts are ignored.
  • All values are written as text; numeric-looking cells are not auto-converted to numbers.
  • colspan and rowspan cells are unmerged — each cell lands where the parser places it.
  • Files without any <table> report "no tables found" instead of producing an empty workbook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this HTML table to Excel converter free?

Yes — 100% free with no sign-up, no watermark and no file limit. All parsing and workbook building happens in your browser.

Which HTML tables are supported?

Any standard <table> markup — pages saved from the web, exported reports, email tables. CSS-drawn layouts without <table> tags are not converted.

How are multiple tables handled?

Each <table> becomes its own worksheet, named Sheet1, Sheet2, … in the order the tables appear in the document.

What happens to <th> header cells?

They are treated like ordinary cells and stored as the first row of their sheet.

Are values converted to numbers?

No — HTML cells have no type information, so everything is written as text to keep the data exactly as it appears.

Will my file be uploaded to a server?

No. The HTML is read and the workbook is generated entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device.

Can I convert several files at once?

Yes. Drop multiple .html files and download the .xlsx results together as a single ZIP archive.

Why does it say no tables were found?

The file contains no <table> elements. Check that the content uses real table markup rather than CSS grids or images.
